If you are an Australian citizen and aged 18 years or over, you need to enrol and vote in federal elections, by-elections and referendums.
When you enrol for the first time, you will need to show who you are.
You can do this with:
Your Medicare card, or
A driver’s licence, or
An Australian passport, or
Citizenship certificate, or
By having someone who is already enrolled who can confirm your identity.
