Transcript of Enrolling to vote

Updated: 10 September 2013

Enrolling to vote is easy.

If you’re 16 years or older, now’s a great time to enrol.

Once you turn 18, you can vote and have your say on Australia’s future.

If you haven’t enrolled before, don’t worry it's easy.

If you have a computer, you can enrol online at - aec.gov.au/enrol.

It’s easy to do and takes under 5 minutes.

You’ll need proof of ID. That’s a driver’s licence, passport or someone who is already on the electoral roll who can confirm who you are.

You’ll also need to know your birth date and town where you were born.

Then just include details about where you live, how we can contact you, then sign your name.

That’s it.

Haven’t got a computer? No worries. You can pick up a form from Australian Post, Centrelink, Medicare or from the Australian Electoral Commission. It’s that simple to do something so important.

It’s our vote our future.
