The Electoral Integrity Assurance Taskforce (EIAT) Board has provided formal advice to the Australian Electoral Commissioner, Jeff Pope, following return of the writ for the 2026 Farrer by-election. The Board advice is made available on the EIAT website.
“The integrity of election processes is critical to public trust in Australia’s democracy,” Mr Pope said.
“The AEC is at the forefront of upholding integrity standards for the delivery of federal election and by-election processes. The work of the Taskforce plays a vital role as Australia’s leading capability in responding to challenges which may arise in our electoral environment.”
“I am very pleased that the Farrer by-election was conducted in the appropriate democratic spirit and to the standards of integrity that Australians expect and demand.”
