COVID+? Telephone voting registration reminder

Registration for the AEC’s telephone voting service for COVID+ Australians closes at 4pm local time across Australia.

• Note: For people in central and western time zones, any registration that occurs after 4pm eastern time must occur via phone, on 1800 413 960.

The online registration system cannot geoblock based on time zones and so must cease at 4pm eastern time to meet the requirements of the law, and uphold the integrity of the service.

While registration will close at 4pm local time, registered telephone voters can cast their vote up until 6pm local time – in line with polling hours for in-person voting centres. If someone is on the line at 6pm local time they will be able to vote.
