Candidates for the 2020 Groom federal by-election will be officially declared at 12 midday on Friday 6 November 2020.
Following the declaration of candidates, the Divisional Returning Officer for Groom will conduct a random draw for positions on the ballot paper.
The declaration event and draw for ballot paper positions will take place at 50 Industrial Avenue, Wilsonton.
Social-distancing rules will apply to everybody attending the ballot draw and seating will be appropriately spaced. Hand sanitiser will be at the entrance and exit of the venue.
AEC staff performing the ballot draw will observe necessary personal hygiene measures and sanitise the equipment used.
The list of candidates, in ballot paper order, will be published on the AEC website later in the day. The AEC will also tweet an image of the candidate list from the event for people unable to attend.
