This advice sets out the AEC's conclusion in relation to the matters described below:

The matter:

Whether the Liberal Party of Australia – Queensland Division have outstanding disclosure obligations pursuant to Part XX of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 in respect of a function organised by Mr Michael Johnson MP in April 2004 and attended by Mr Ricky Ponting.

Questions in Senate Estimates hearings and media reports.

Part XX of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918.

AEC process:

The AEC considered information in media reports about the function and whether disclosure obligations had been met by the Liberal Party of Australia – Queensland Division.

The Liberal Party of Australia – Queensland Division were contacted and requested to provide information in relation to this matter.

AEC conclusion:

After reviewing the information, the AEC has concluded that the party has met its financial disclosure obligations in relation to this matter.
