1 Direct Enrol and Update Legislation are transactions generated by and approved under sections 103A and 103B of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918. These include transactions processed at the end of the statutory notification period where no response has been received, as well as transactions processed as a result of confirmation from the elector during the statutory notification period. These transactions are processed in batches and from time to time no batch will reach the final stage of processing in a month, resulting in a zero report.

2 Direct Enrol and Update Other includes enrolments which were prompted by a direct enrol or direct update letter of intent, but which resulted in a claim for enrolment by the elector which was processed under section 98 of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918.

3 Online includes enrolments submitted electronically through the Online Enrolment Service.

4 Other are physical enrolment forms submitted on paper including those obtained from AEC offices and at elections, citizenship ceremonies, Australia Post and printed from the AEC website.
