Named after Gladys Moncrieff 1892–1976, light opera and musical comedy singer.

Area and Location Description:

Moncrieff covers an area of approximately 129 sq km from the Southport- Nerang Rd Southport in the north to Christine Ave Burleigh Waters in the south, west to Nerang and Gilston and South West to Worongary and Tallai. It takes in the tourist strip of the Gold Coast from north of Burleigh Waters to Mail Beach. The main suburbs include Ashmore, Benowa, Broadbeach, Broadbeach Waters, Bundall, Burleigh Waters, Carrara, Main Beach, Mermaid Beach, Mermaid Waters, Miami, Nerang, Southport, Surfers Paradise, Tallai and Worongary.
