The AEC Federal Election app is designed to make your voting experience easier and faster.
Once you download the app, you can check if you are enrolled to vote, find where to vote and view the election results as votes are counted.
The app includes the following features:
You can get the app in either the app Store or the Google Play app store.
Yes. The app is free from both stores.
No, Australian law doesn’t allow for online voting in federal election at this time.
In order to get the most from the app you need to enter your personal information as it appears on the electoral roll. This includes your full name and address you are enrolled at. This information allows us to verify your enrolment and identify your division.
If you enter your information and it says ‘Your enrolment is not confirmed’, try :
No. If you are known to us as a silent elector you will not be able to confirm your enrolment in the app. You will still be able to estimate and see information about your division, find polling places and see results.
The app provides all the information you need to participate in the federal election and then follow results. Candidates, polling place mapping and results information will be customised specifically for you based on your enrolment.
Each time you change your name or address you will need to update your details on the electoral roll. The quickest and easiest way is to change your name or change your address online. Alternatively, you can get an enrolment form from any Australia Post Outlet or we can send one to you.
This is the first version of the AEC app. Future updates may enable users to enrol or update their enrolment details. For now, you can enrol online.
