It is strongly recommended those wishing to present register before 5 pm AEST Thursday 30 July 2026.

Registrations can be made by:

When registering, your name, contact details and the topics you wish to present will be requested. These details will be used for contact purposes and to inform the augmented Electoral Commission of your subject matter.

Attendees are welcome to participate by presenting or by observing. Those who have not registered to present in advance and are attending in person will be able to do so on the day. If you are not attending in person, your participation will be limited to your scheduled presentation by phone. There will be no option to view the session online. Further information on what to expect can be found in the below section “How will the public consultation session operate”.

A public consultation session is an opportunity for the public to speak directly to the members of the augmented Electoral Commission and express their views on the proposed redistribution. Members of the public are invited to speak for up to 5 minutes, or they may attend to observe proceedings only. Online registration to attend in advance of the sessions is strongly encouraged, however, those wishing to register on the day will also be able to do so. The end time of the session will depend on the number of participants appearing on the day.

Please note that the augmented Electoral Commission will not be presenting on its proposal and will generally not ask or respond to any questions during the session. This is an opportunity for the public to speak. All presentations made will be transcribed and made publicly available after the augmented Electoral Commission’s report is tabled in Parliament.

Audio-visual presentation facilities will not be provided at the public consultation session.

Those who cannot attend the Hobart session in person are able to register to present by phone. Participants using this option will be called at a pre-advised time and will have 5 minutes to present by phone. There will be no option for those not attending in person to watch proceedings virtually.

A transcript will be taken of the public consultation session and will be published on this page at a later date.
