Enrol to Vote Week

Enrol to Vote Week 2009 has now successfully wrapped up with over 1800 schools across Australia participating.

About Enrol to Vote Week

Enrol to Vote Week is the AEC’s key program for senior secondary students in which we work with schools to encourage and assist young Australians to enrol to vote.

Enrol to Vote Week is held every year and participating schools arrange an enrolment event or activity for their eligible students, distribute enrolment forms, help students to fill them out and send the completed forms back to the AEC. The AEC provides an information package, enrolment forms and newsletter updates. AEC staff are also available to visit schools to help out.

By participating in Enrol to Vote Week schools can ensure that their 17 and 18 year old students exercise their right and responsibility to enrol for federal, state and local government elections.

AEC research shows that secondary schools provide one of the best opportunities to encourage young people to enrol to vote so they can have their say in elections.
