The Strategy, Research and Analysis Section is responsible for the AEC's corporate and business planning, performance analysis, corporate governance and risk management. It also conducts strategic research into electoral matters.

Research Reports

Research is a legislated function under the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918. The AEC undertakes or commissions research across a range of issues and for many different purposes, including responses to parliamentary requests for information, performance monitoring, program development and evaluation, applied policy research, market testing and benchmarking.
