AEC to Conduct Recount in McEwen
The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) announced today that the Divisional Returning Officer for the electoral division of McEwen will conduct a recount of all the votes counted for the Division at the recent federal election.
Subject to notifying all candidates, the recount will commence tomorrow (Wednesday) at the divisional counting centre in Seymour. It is expected that the recount of over 100,000 ballot papers will be completed by the middle of next week. Candidates are entitled to appoint scrutineers to observe the recount.
An announcement will be made when the recount has been completed. There will not be any progressive results released by the AEC.
