Media Release 2003: Deadline for Suggestions for South Australia's Federal Redistribution
27 June 2003
The Australian Electoral Officer for South Australia, Dr Christopher Drury, today reminded all interested individuals and organisations that written suggestions must be lodged with the Redistribution Committee for South Australia by next Friday, 4 July 2003.
"The redrawing of South Australian federal electoral boundaries is a consultative process that is being undertaken because South Australia is now only entitled to 11 seats in the House of Representatives, rather than the existing 12," Dr Drury said.
Dr Drury also said that the AEC provided a range of information to assist individuals and organisations to develop their suggestions.
"This information is available on the AEC website www.aec.gov.au or from the AEC's Adelaide office on 08 8237 6551," he said.
Suggestions must be lodged with the Redistribution Committee for South Australia by 6pm on Friday, 4 July 2003 at 9th Floor, AMP Building, 1 King William Street, Adelaide, SA 5000, or GPO Box 344, Adelaide SA 5001.
