What is the National Indigenous Youth Parliament?

The National Indigenous Youth Parliament (NIYP) is an exciting program run by the AEC in partnership with the YMCA and the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House.

National Indigenous Youth Parliament 2014

NIYP 2014 will be held from 28 May to 3 June 2014 in Canberra.

The selection process for NIYP 2014 is complete. The AEC received over 220 outstanding applications for the six places in each state and territory. Thanks to all applicants for taking the time and having the initiative to apply.

We encourage all applicants to stay connected with the AEC through our Indigenous Facebook page. This is a great way to find out about the AEC's many job opportunities at election time and the other activities run by the AEC for Indigenous Australians.
