The Australian Electoral Commission is today launching further advertising for the 2019 federal election, following earlier work encouraging Australians to enrol before the close of rolls deadline.
The Electoral Commissioner, Mr Tom Rogers, said with a record enrolment rate of 96.8% it is important that all Australians enrolled now understand how to cast a formal vote for both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
“We’ll be running advertising in just about every channel available to us - across digital, social media, television, radio, newspapers, outdoor and cinema,” Mr Rogers said.
“It is really important that people understand their voting options and how to cast a formal vote so they are able to have their vote counted according to their preferences.

“To complement our advertising we’re spreading the message through a range of public relations channels and have a practise voting tool on our website,” Mr Rogers said.
“We’re also delivering the official guide to the federal election to more than 10.5 million households this week, which clearly outlines instructions for voting.”
