Updated: 27 October 2017

The Australian Electoral Commission today reminded voters that the electoral roll for the New England by-election will close at 8pm Friday 3 November 2017.

Acting Australian Electoral Officer for New South Wales, Warwick Austin said that all Australian citizens aged 18 years and over and living in the federal electoral Division of New England are required by law to enrol and vote in the by-election.

“You can enrol online, or if you’re already enrolled but have recently moved, you can update your enrolment details online at www.aec.gov.au,” Mr Austin said.

“Alternatively, you can pick up an enrolment form at any AEC office or Australia Post outlet, but you must return the completed application form to the AEC by the 8pm deadline on Friday.”

On Friday 3 November, all AEC offices in New South Wales will be open for extended hours from 8.30am to 8.00pm to receive enrolment application forms.

“If you’re unsure if your enrolment details are up to date, or whether you live in the Division of New England, you can check your details online now at www.aec.gov.au/check or call the AEC on 13 23 26,” Mr Austin said.
