The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has authorised the payment of election funding to political parties for votes received at the 2015 North Sydney by-election. The total of the payments is $163 300.63
In order to be entitled to election funding a candidate must obtain at least four per cent of the formal first preference vote. Only three of the 13 candidates who contested the by-election obtained four per cent of the formal first preference vote.
Entitlements have been calculated on the vote count as at Tuesday 22nd December 2015. As the vote count had been finalised by this date, the payments made by the AEC represent the full and final entitlements to election funding for the North Sydney by-election and no further payments will be made.
Funding entitlements are calculated using an indexed sum per first preference vote. At the 2015 North Sydney by-election, each first preference vote was worth 259.405 cents.
