On 08 October 2015, the Australian Electoral Commission (the Commission) issued a notice to the Republican Party of Australia stating that the Commission is considering deregistering the party under subsection 137(1)(cb) of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918.
The AEC acknowledges the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters, culture and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
