Named after an Aboriginal name for the Murray River.
Area and Location Description:
It covers an area of approximately 24 044 sq km along the New South Wales border from Yarrawonga to Corryong in the north and to Euroa in the south and Dinner Plain in the east.
The main towns include Beechworth, Benalla, Bright, Corryong, Euroa, Mount Beauty, Myrtleford, Rutherglen, Tallangatta, Violet Town, Wangaratta, Wodonga and Yarrawonga.

Forestry, woodchipping, tobacco, fruit (kiwi fruit, blueberries, stone and citrus fruits), viticulture, agriculture, timber processing, manufacturing and tourism.
