Successful Senate candidates elected in Western Australia

The successful candidates in the Senate election in Western Australia were determined today, following the completion of the Senate count by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC).


AEC State Manager and Australian Electoral Officer for Western Australia, Jennie Gzik said that the Senate count had involved the keying in of votes to allow a computerised distribution of preferences in determining the six elected candidates.

“As with all aspects of the count, the final process undertaken today was able to be observed by scrutineers representing candidates and parties.”

The successful candidates for the 6 Senate vacancies in Western Australia in order of their
election are:

1. David Johnston (Liberal)
2. Louise Pratt (Australian Labor Party)
3. Alan Eggleston (Liberal)
4. Mark Bishop (Australian Labor Party)
5. Michaelia Cash (Liberal)
6. Scott Ludlam (The Greens)
