Media Release 2007: AEC offices open Saturday for electors to update their enrolment

People already on the electoral roll, who need to update their details can drop off their completed enrolment form this Saturday 20 October 2007 at any Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) office from 9am to 5pm.
Electoral Commissioner, Ian Campbell said that ahead of the deadline of 8pm Tuesday 23 October for updating enrolment details, AEC offices would be open this Saturday to receive completed enrolment forms.
The location of AEC offices can be found at www.aec.gov.au under the 'about AEC' menu or by calling 13 23 26.
Electors can check if their current enrolled address is correct by visiting the AEC website or calling 13 23 26.
Enrolment forms are available on the AEC website at www.aec.gov.au, any Australia Post outlet or from any AEC, Medicare, Centrelink and ATO office.
"Completed enrolment forms must be returned by the 8pm Tuesday deadline. If you are unable to post it or hand deliver it to the AEC on time, you can obtain fax numbers for your local AEC Office from the website or call 13 23 26.
The deadline for eligible Australians to enrol for the first time or to get back on the roll in time for the 2007 federal election passed at 8pm on Wednesday 17 October.
