NSW Federal Electoral Redistribution Suggestions Reminder

The Australian Electoral Officer (State Manager) for New South Wales, Ms Marie Nelson, today reminded all interested individuals and organisations that written suggestions must be lodged with the Redistribution Committee by 6pm next Friday 24 March 2006.

“The redrawing of the NSW federal electoral boundaries is a consultative process that is being undertaken to ensure that each of the State’s electoral divisions has, as near as possible, the same number of electors,” Ms Nelson said.

Ms Nelson also said the AEC provided a range of information to assist individuals and organisations to develop their suggestions.

“This information is available on the AEC website www.aec.gov.au or from the AEC’s Sydney office on 02 9375 6321,” she said.

Suggestions must be lodged with the Redistribution Committee for New South Wales by 6.00pm on Friday 24 March 2006 in one of the following ways:

  • in person to: Level 4, Roden Cutler House, 24 Campbell Street, Haymarket, NSW 2000
  • by mail to: PO Box 20014, World Square, NSW 2002
  • by facsimile: to 02 9212 2208; or
  • by email to nsw.redistribution@aec.gov.au

Similarly, other individuals and orginisations/lobby groups (third parties) who take part in an elction campaign may also be rquired to disclose details of gifts made.
