Media Release 2006: Deregistration of Political Parties

The delegate of the Australian Electoral Commission has deregistered the following political parties:

• Outdoor Recreation Party (deregistered 18 January 2006)
• The Aged and Disability Pensioners Party (deregistered 18 January 2006)
• Lower Excise Fuel and Beer Party (deregistered 19 December 2005)

Deregistration of the parties was in accordance with paragraph 137(1)(cb) of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918, (The Act) for failure to comply with a notice issued under section 138A of the Act: Review of eligibility of parties to remain in the Register of Political Parties.
