Media Release 2006: Gazettal of boundaries and names of federal electoral divisions in Queensland and New South Wales

The augmented Electoral Commission for Queensland and the augmented Electoral Commission for New South Wales undertook the final step in the redistributions of those States by publishing determination notices in the Commonwealth Notices Gazette. This step meets a formal requirement of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918.
The explanation of the new electoral boundaries set out in the Gazette notices is contained in the attachment to this media release.
The detailed maps and reports prepared by both augmented Electoral Commissions will be made available on the AEC's website once they have been tabled in Parliament.
