Media Release 2005: Werriwa By-Election - Election Financial Disclosure Returns

The 2005 Werriwa by-election financial disclosure returns became available for public inspection from 9am (EST) on Monday 5 September 2005.

Those who are interested may access the election financial disclosure returns at the AEC Central Office in Canberra.

Election financial disclosure returns are lodged by candidates, broadcasters and publishers and third parties (such as donors to candidates).

Political parties do not lodge election financial disclosure returns. Political parties lodge annual financial disclosure returns covering a financial year. The annual returns for the financial year 2004/2005 will not be publicly available until February 2006.

Similarly, other individuals and orginisations/lobby groups (third parties) who take part in an elction campaign may also be rquired to disclose details of gifts made.
