The 2004 election financial disclosure returns will be available for public inspection from 9am (ESST) on Tuesday 29 March 2005.

Those who are interested may access the election financial disclosure returns on the AEC’s website.

Election financial disclosure returns are lodged by candidates and Senate groups, broadcasters and publishers, and third parties (such as donors to candidates).

The website contains images of those returns received and processed up until 4 March 2005. Further returns received will be progressively placed on the website.

Hard (paper) copies of the returns may also be viewed at the AEC’s Central Office in Canberra.

Political parties do not lodge election financial disclosure returns. Political parties lodge annual financial disclosure returns covering a financial year. The annual returns for the financial year 2004/2005 will not be publicly available until February 2006.

Similarly, other individuals and orginisations/lobby groups (third parties) who take part in an elction campaign may also be rquired to disclose details of gifts made.
