Media Release 2002: 13 Candidates for the Cunningham By-Election

A total of 13 people have nominated as candidates in the Cunningham by-election to be held on Saturday 19 October.
The Divisional Returning Officer for Cunningham, Mrs Ann Cass announced the candidates at 12 noon today at the official declaration of nominations.
The candidates for the Cunningham by-election are attached.
Mrs Cass also took the opportunity to encourage Cunningham electors who were going to be away on polling day to vote before they go.
"If electors are unable to vote at a polling place on polling day, they can vote before they go either in person or by post," she said.
Pre-poll votes can be cast in person from Monday, 30 September 2002 at any AEC divisional office around Australia.
Electors wanting to vote by post can pick up a postal vote application form from any post office, AEC office, print one from the AEC's website www.aec.gov.au or ring the AEC on 13 23 26 to get one sent out to them.
