Media Release 2002: Cunningham electors to have their say tomorrow

Cunningham electors have been reminded that tomorrow, Saturday 19 October, is polling day for the Cunningham by-election.

The 45 polling places throughout the division will open at 8am tomorrow and voting will take place until they close at 6pm sharp.

The Divisional Returning Officer for Cunningham, Mrs Ann Cass reminded Cunningham electors that it was compulsory for every elector to vote tomorrow unless they had already cast their vote in the preceding weeks.

"This is an important day when Cunningham electors have their say in electing their representative to federal parliament," she said.

"If electors want to find out their nearest polling place they should ring the AEC on 13 23 26, visit the website at www.aec.gov.au/cunningham or refer to the elector leaflet mailed to them earlier this week," she said.
