All the votes cast by Aston electors in polling places yesterday were counted last night.  Results at the close of the night's counting are attached.

Another 229 votes were counted today.  These are a result of votes taken in hospitals and nursing homes.  These results have been posted to the AEC web site and a copy is attached. 

Over 10,000 electors cast pre-poll votes or voted by post for this by-election.  The counting of these votes will commence, tomorrow, Monday 16 July 2001.  A Media Release with progressive, updated results will be sent out at the end of each day.
